RJ, Martha, and Gemma Wiegand

As a way to help our church community get to know each other better, each month we are going to feature an article about one of our congregation’s members or families.  This month we are featuring the Wiegand family.

RJ and Martha Wiegand are the proud parents of an eight-month-old daughter, Gemma.  Residents of Thornburg, they have been members of our church for about a year.  Martha works as an attorney with CONSOL Energy.  RJ is a PGA Teaching Professional.  RJ gives private and group golf lessons at the RMU Island Sports Golf dome on Neville Island (see rumislandsports.org to learn more).  Gemma enjoys her Gymboree classes at the Galleria in Mt. Lebanon.  RJ was recently elected and installed as an elder, and he serves on the Worship Ministry Team.

They have a six-year-old German shepherd named Blaze.  He is red and black, and was born in southern Calinfornia.

RJ and Martha say that their favorite hymn is “All Glory, Laud, and Honor.”  Their favorite Bible verse comes from the 23rd Psalm:  “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.”

In her spare time, Martha enjoys playing golf, traveling, volunteering with the Junior League of Pittsburgh, and doing crossword puzzles.  RJ likes listening to live music, traveling, running, reading, and sports of all kinds.
